Podcast on Incognegro

A podcast I made about some of the issues introduced by Incognegro.  Let me know what you think!

  1. Thoughts on authorship for Incognegro and comics in general:

Without knowing otherwise, I would assume Johnson/Pleece/Robbin are working somewhat traditionally (full script, then art, then lettering), where each phase of the project is simply passed off from one person to the next. A lot of people will disagree, but I think this is just as much a collaboration as any other method of working, albeit a different kind of collaboration.

Every time the project gets passed off from one person to the next, the next creator is seeing it with a totally different perspective than the person who worked on it before them. There’s no way for the artist to see the :exact: picture the writer has in his head (same goes for colorists, letterers, etc.). These different perspectives trigger creative leaps that the writer never could have made by himself. This means that by the end, the project is greater than the sum of its creators as individuals, which is a pretty tight definition of collaboration in my opinion.
